‘It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single person who has a craze for music must have heard of Bohemian Rhapsody.’

Bohemian Rhapsody is a biopic film of an evergreen rock band Queen. The title is from their hit single Bohemian Rhapsody. It is the hit song in the history of the music industry till now. The song is by the frontman of the band, (late)Freddie Mercury. The film covers the life of the lead singer. Bohemian Rhapsody, as the title suggests, it is a narration of an artist who leads an unconventional life and suits the film. The song faced brutal criticisms during its release and, how ironic that it is the epitome of music today. The lead singer addresses himself as an unconventional artist and confesses that he is bisexual to his mom without shame (there is nothing to be ashamed of, indeed), but this failed his maternal notion of society. The journey of an artist as a bisexual person is challenging enough and, the problems he overcame in the 1970s and 1980s are undoubtedly motivational. With talent and artistry, their music stands through the test of time.

Freddie Mercury is an example of the saying, if something is beyond your imagination, not means it is impossible. It is a note that one should take to the grave. The director and producer made such an effort to cast members highly identical to real-life band members. Their authenticity, artistry, and aesthetics are universal. Moreover, the role of Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury skyrocketed the market of Hollywood. The historical event, the live aid of 1985, will not fade away, for Queen made an everlasting impression on the audience. The film is a snap to reality for those who thought the band is only about the frontman. The film clearly shows how the other band members came up with iconic songs and anthems. The understanding and not-so-jealous attitude with all the attention towards Freddie Mercury, made this combo sell the best records. So, the film clears all the misconceptions about the band and their music. Being a 90s kid, listening to the music that I was not born of the era is crazily enough to suggest you check out this movie. The boy band Queen embarked on a journey, drew up the genesis of music regardless of the struggles one faced personally and as a band.

‘If music be the food of love, play Queen!’
